2 Samuel 3:35-37 AMP‬
All the people came to urge David to eat food while it was still day; but David took an oath, saying, “May God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun sets.
Your words and body language as a leader is being understood by your followers. Saying what you don't intend to do and pretending that they will not know what you are doing is like shooting yourself on the leg and pretend that it is not there. 
Be honest to yourself and keep your promises to your followers. The Lord reminds
