John 5:39-40.NIV. 
You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
Trying to get eternal life from any other source or means is an exercise in futility. Get to know Jesus and all you are striving for will be yours. 
1 John 5:11. NIV. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Remember that in Him is life and that life is the light of men. Catch the light, the Lord directs. Just making an uncommon spiritual sense. God bless you.
