Matthew 23:3 NLT
So practice and obey whatever they tell you, but don’t follow their example. For they don’t practice what they teach. 
It is tragically possible to be a guide post and not a guide, to be an exhorter and not an example, to show the way to others and not walk in that way yourself. Self examination is one excercise you must practice always so that you will not fall into the trap of self-delusion like the pharisee . The Holy Spirit warns. Just making an uncommon spiritual Sense. Take time to do what you are doing, you are not competing with anyone. Allow your root to go deep down in to the word so that you can stand the test of time. The Lord reminds.
