Hosea 1:4 (NLT)  And the LORD said, “Name the child Jezreel, for I am about to punish King Jehu’s dynasty to avenge the murders he committed at Jezreel. In fact, I will bring an end to Israel’s independence.
Independence can be good but not when it comes to your relationship with God. In times of prosperity Israel often became arrogant and at other times they turn to Egypt for their strength and security.
