Why Must I win a soul for Christ?

Of all the things we are commanded to do in the kingdom of God, soul winning is the greatest, it is the heart beat of God.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Mark 16:16 KJV.

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:   And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.   And ye are witnesses of these things.

What was the purpose of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to the earth? 🌍

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.   How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?   And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

What is soul winning?
Soul winning is the deliberate act of a believer to bring back a lost soul to the  saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
It is the preaching of the  gospel to the Sinner with the purpose of bringing him/her back to the point of decision which is to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

What is the gospel?
The Gospel is the good news of the  benefits of the death, resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ to mankind.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:16‭-‬17 KJV.

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

The gospel is the message that let's the sinner know how much God loves and care for them.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.   For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.   He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The gospel let's the sinner to know that his or her sins has been paid for by Jesus Christ.

When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. Still, everyone died—from the time of Adam to the time of Moses—even those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come. But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. And the result of God’s gracious gift is very different from the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. What gospel is not.
The gospel is not a bad news.
It is  not condemnation.
It is not to remind people how sinful they are.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Why should every believer be a soul winner?
1. It is  a commandment.

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.
Mark 16:15 NLT.

2. It is an assignment given to us as ambassadors of Christ.

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”

3. It is a task or our responsibility.

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
2 Corinthians 5:18 NLT.

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

4. Any soul that is not won will perish and God will hold you responsible.

“Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me.

5. It transforms the society by lightning the souls of men and  eliminating the demonic powers in the lives of men.

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

6. It is the reason for the coming of  Christ to the world.

Why is it that some believers are not  interested in winning souls.

1. Fear.

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
2 Timothy 1:6‭-‬9 KJV.

2. Shame.
So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

3. Rejection.

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

4. Hatred and persecution.
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.   But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

5. Lack of passion for the lost souls.

And of some have compassion, making a difference:  And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

1. The Satan factor.

2. The cares of this world

Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many:   And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.   And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.   And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.   And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

3. Self righteousness.
I don't need your Jesus, I am OK.

4. Some believes that there is no God, no life after death. FOOLS.

Jesus is the only way.

6. The attitude and the lifestyles of some believers.

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,  And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:15‭-‬17 KJV.

What are the gains of soul winning.

1. Open cheque .

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
John 15:16 KJV.

2. You will shine Like stars.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Daniel 12:3 KJV.

3. You will eliminate death.
Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;  Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
James 5:19‭-‬20 KJV.

4. You will glorify the father as you bear fruits.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
John 15:8 KJV.

You must seek out the various platform available and engage your self. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you your area of strength.

1. Street evangelism
2. 🚌 bus evangelism
3. 🏥 hospital evangelism
4. Prison 🏫 evangelism
5. One on one evangelism, mentoring and follow up.
6. Work place evangelism
7. Lifestyle evangelism
8. Old people's home evangelism
9. Orphanage evangelism.

And others that are not listed here which the Holy Spirit will open your 👄 eyes to see.

In conclusion,  we should win souls not Only because of the rewards that the word of God promised us but because it is a commandment and our responsibility and we will  please our heave Father
